What is a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is an authenticated translation carried out by a court-certified translator. Sworn translations are often required in a legal context, for example if an official document has to be translated in connection with a court case or a business agreement. In addition to translating the document, the translator authenticates their work by appending a declaration stating that the translation is accurate and complete. The translator then signs and stamps the relevant documents. Unsure if you need a sworn translation? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch: our translation experts will be happy to advise you.

Sworn translation: costs
A sworn translation is the work of a court-certified translator who has to meet strict requirements in order to retain this status. That’s why there is a 20% surcharge for sworn translations. Where necessary, we charge an additional sum for postage, for example if your translated document needs to be sent by registered post. We always communicate clearly in advance about what you can expect to pay. And of course you are welcome to contact us for more information at any time.
